SELECTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Marrickville Football Club offers a Selective Development Program for players aged 8 to 19. The Program provides an opportunity to learn to play the game with the Club’s accredited coaches in a team-based, safe and fun learning environment. Our primary purpose is to ensure players develop both their abilities, love and enjoyment of playing football.
SELECTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
AGES 8 - 19
Offering:
- All coaching services delivered by Accredited Professional Coaches
- Play Division 1 or 2 in the Football Canterbury Competition
- Team training 2 nights a week (February – August)- Tuesday & Thursday
- Coach led season games (April – August)
- Pre Season Games in March
- Macron Black Training Jersey, Shorts and Socks (to be used as alternative playing strip)
- Access to optional In -Club Skills Based Training Program delivered in partnership with Sydney FC
- Alternative sessions in the event of training wash outs including indoor training, gym sessions, video analysis and more
- Team video technology and analysis to assist with game evaluation
- Two progress and performance reviews during the season
- Parent information sessions and feedback
- Players will have the opportunity to trial for Kanga Cup in Canberra in 2026

Trials:
At Marrickville FC, we believe in talent development, resilience and providing a pathway for ambitious young football players. Players are identified using a diverse range of criteria such as aptitude for learning, technical skills, perceptual awareness, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Season 2026 Trial Dates:
Friday 7th, 14th & 21st November 2025
5.30pm- Under 8 to Under 12
7.00pm- Under 13 to Under 18/19
(Arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time for grading onboarding)
