Social Responsibility
Marrickville FC is a community club, a representation of local residents who have environmental, sustainability and ethical expectations. The management committee is aligned with these expectations and do take into consideration when procuring goods and services.
Marrickville FC do not have access to proprietary databases to verify supply nor the expertise to track ethical supply chains. Instead Marrickville FC rely on a practical risk management approach by sourcing from local and reputable vendors.
Examples to share:
- The Club’s kit. The Club pays a premium for kits by a known manufacture, through a local distributor rather than source a budget unbranded online supplier.
- Similarly, every effort is made to source the Club’s equipment from known branded suppliers. Where compliance is necessary, we seek the appropriate certification e.g. all our goals have compliance stickers.
- The Club has in previous years respectfully declined gratis unbranded balls from the local association.
The Club is aligned with international charities in the form of unwanted jerseys, boots, balls given to underprivileged communities around the world.
Marrickville FC cannot guarantee all its procurements are exploitation free but we trust you are satisfied this is an important consideration for the Club and it takes steps to mitigate this risk.
